On-Campus Residences
Howard College on-campus residences accommodate approximately 2379 students. Competition for placement is keen and it is not possible to accept all applicants for on-campus accommodation. The on-campus residence accommodates first-entrant students, undergraduates, postgraduates and international students (depending on availability of space).
The on-campus residences comprises of a number of individual residences close to the main academic buildings, with full access to banking services, shops and cafeteria facilities. All residences are self-catering and have access control, lounges and television rooms and parking space. Students are accommodated in single rooms and double rooms.
Off-Campus University owned Residences
Off-Campus University owned Residences are situated away from a campus with full access to relevant amenities such as shopping malls, hospitals, public transport and other related services.
St Hillier Residence (Medical School)
St Hillier comprises fully furnished two/three bedroom flats but each student has a single bedroom. They share a lounge, kitchen and bathroom. A laundry facility and parking are available. It is situated opposite Queensmead Mall in Umbilo and is a few minutes’ walk from Medical School and on a bus route to Howard College. It accommodates only final-year medical students.
San Sabil Residence
San Sabil Residence is situated in Hospital Road near the Addington Beach front. It is about 10 kilometres away from Howard College Campus. This is a mixed gender residence and rooms are shared (by the same gender).
Off-campus Leased Residences (private landlords)
Off-campus Leased residences (private landlords) accommodate 6000 students. These residences are fully furnished. All students live in shared rooms. Occupants share a kitchen and a bathroom.
